Lets talk about Arthritis.
What is Arthritis
Arthritis is a general term for conditions that cause pain, swelling, and stiffness in the joints, the areas where two or more bones meet, such as the knees, fingers, hips, or spine.
There are more than "100 different types" of arthritis, but the most common ones are:
1. Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common type, often called “wear-and-tear” arthritis.
It happens when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of bones breaks down over time, leading to pain and reduced movement.
2. Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease, meaning the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the joints, causing inflammation that can damage cartilage and bone.
Other types include gout, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis.
Common symptoms:
Joint pain, tenderness, or swelling.
Stiffness (especially in the morning or after rest).
Reduced range of motion.
Warmth or redness around a joint.
Fatigue (in inflammatory types like RA).
While arthritis has no cure, treatments such as exercise, physical therapy, medication, diet changes, or surgery in severe cases can help manage pain and improve quality of life.
I heard a lot of people complaining about their Arthritis for years, and how bad the pain can get.
Arthritis is a general term for conditions that cause pain.
Now, read that again, you may not have Arthritis when you think you do.
That's right, what you thought was Arthritis might not be.
A lot of the time, we may be causing our own feelings, like Arthritis pains.
Young or old, if you let cold or cool air pass or flow at the surface of the joints, you're going to feel pain in your joints in a few hours, or sometimes almost instantly, especially if you are sitting or lying still.
You might wake up in the morning with a stuffy nose, dry lips, and pain everywhere, because you slept with a fan on in the room all night and not covered up or properly covered.
Those areas of the body that were not covered and opened to the fan draft or A.C. is going to hurt, and you might think that's Arthritis.
If you sleep with a fan on or A.C. on, wear pyjamas.
A slight draft doesn't have to be cold, or cool, air will irritate your joints, from the base of your skull all the way down to your feet, and some of your joints will hurt more than others.
Do not cold pack the affected areas; it might make things a lot worse.
If you warm up the affected areas with hot packs, most of the time the pain will go away in a very short time.
Try it, and you might be amazed at the results.
Thank you for reading,
Tim.
